Applied Behavior Analysis

Though many of our ABA clients are children, we feel the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can help anyone! We offer ABA therapy services in our center based in Fremont, as well as in your home (dependent upon service availability).

Skills Acquisition and Generalization

Think of all the steps involved in getting a child ready for bed: taking a bath, drying off, brushing teeth, reading quietly, and going to sleep. This can be challenging for the most patient of parents, and the most 'neurotypical' of children.

Now imagine each one of those tasks, and how the individual self-care skills required to perform them translate to other tasks every day. Mastering those skills and and generalizing them to other aspects of daily life are at the heart of every behavior plan we develop for our clients.

Challenging and Negative Behaviors

All behavior is learned, fashioned from a lifetime of responses to our environment. But if you change the environment, you can change the behavior.

Opposition, antisocial behavior, tantrum, even seemingly impenetrable, self-stimulating behaviors like flapping or waving hands, can be minimized, replaced, or converted into sociable, functional behaviors. These changes may not come easy or quickly, but the possibilities that open for our clients are worth it!

Family Collaboration and Involvement

Our ABA clients include children, teens, and adults, but in most cases, the whole family gains from their progress.

Our treatment plans account for the presence, abilities, and disabilities of family members. We see the greatest success when everyone performs their role in a behavior plan!
