The Short:
We are based in Fremont, CA. As a Behavior Technician, you will provide one-on-one therapy to children diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities. You'll develop skills in Applied Behavior Analysis and gain valuable experience working with children with special needs. We provide paid training and supervision to get you up to speed. When applying, please consider your availability for work for the next six months, as our training period lasts around a month. Pay starts at $17.05 for training and $19.61 when working with our clients, with a pay increase upon completing training. Detailed job description below!
Behavior Technician I and II
Duty Statement: Implement treatment protocols and behavior intervention plans for clients of MCA under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
A Behavior Technician II (BT II) performs all listed responsibilities at a high level of competency and accuracy, requires a minimum of supervision, and is seeking or has obtained a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or BCaBA certification from the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disorders, up to age 12 or higher
Provide direct (face-to-face) services in our Fremont, CA office, or clients’ homes (Fremont, Union City, Newark)
Use ABA techniques to teach and improve clients’ skills acquisition and reduce target behaviors
Accurately record quantitative and qualitative data, and review that data during therapy session setup
Maintain positive and professional relationships with the client, their family, MCA team members, and other professionals
Perform role at a level consistent with experience, under an appropriate level of supervision (BT II)
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment
Recognize and report factors that may detract from a therapy program (BT II)
Provide feedback on the efficacy of a therapy program (BT II)
Attend clinical and team meetings as needed in Fremont, CA
Supervised By and Reports To: Case Supervisor or Clinical Director, BCBA or BCaBA
Required Availability: Varies according to client, 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 9:00 am- 1:00 pm Saturday. Check and respond to company-supplied email daily.
Physical Requirements:
Able to work one-on-one with an energetic client for the duration of a session (1-4 hours)
Able to work in a seated or cross-legged position at or near a child’s eye-level for an extended period of time
Able to routinely lift or move up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Pass required tests for infectious diseases
Pass a Live Scan or other criminal history background check immediately upon hire
Previous experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred
Additional Requirements:
Have consistent, reliable transportation to our Fremont office or clients’ homes in Fremont, Union City, and Newark
Have consistent, reliable access to phone and email
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
